Abstract

This paper presents a clinical case of aphasia rehabilitation through the combination of rehabilitation and habilitation strategies. First of all, we use elements of Melodic Intonation Therapy (TIM). The application of this intervention method did not enable the patient for the propositional use of language, however it facilitated the repetition of phrases as first verbal expressions, which were later used for the preparation of a highly complex Augmentative-Alternative Communication System (AACS), using its own voice as an output and increasing its communication capabilities.
